Asiatica Museum The number and quality of the unique artworks of Musée Asiatica, makes it one of the principal five European museums for Asiatic Arts. The collection consists of more than a thousand pieces, from prehistory to nowadays, of regions such as India, China, Tibet and Nepal. An amazing visit into the past of these countries! The museum is open every day, including Saturday, Sunday and public holidays from 2pm to 7pm. In July-August and during other school holidays: from 10.30am to 6.30pm.

The Saint-Martin church Built in the 12th century, the Saint-Martin church is the oldest place of worship in Biarritz. It was rebuilt in the 16th century, but retained its simple plan, a nave with side aisles and no transepts. You can still see the original pillars and its original arcs. The western facade is surmounted by a gabled steeple. The entrance has several arches and capitals sculpted with foliage. Under its ogival arches, resonates the music of the organ which was built at the beginning 20th century.

The Chocolate Museum The Basque country history and chocolate history are tightly related. The kingdom of chocolate, Planète Musée du Chocolat, opens the doors to a gourmet journey through the secrets of the chocolate tree and the fabulous history of this delicacy. The visit begins with a welcome tasting, followed by a screening of 14 minutes documentary that will reveal the secrets of chocolate (history, botany and manufacturing stages), the discovery of five rooms dedicated to the chocolate universe (ceremonial objects, old manufacturing machines, advertising items ...) and at the end of the visit, you will take delight in drinking a homemade hot chocolate drink.

The Rock of the Virgin Mary The Rocher de la Vierge (The Rock of the Virgin Mary) named for the statue of the Holy Virgin placed on its summit in 1865, was used by Napoleon III as an anchoring point for the Port du Refuge (The Port of Refuge) dike that he planned to create. Hence, the rock was made accessible to land via a wooden bridge and a tunnel was drilled that enabled the delivery of stone blocks used for the construction of the dam. The wooden bridge didn't withstand the test of time and Gustav Eiffel replaced it in 1887 with an iron bridge that is still in place. The statue of the Virgin Mary was installed as a token of gratitude by whalers, saved from being shipwrecked by following a dazzling and mysterious light perceptible from the rock's summit.

The Biarritz lighthouse Emblematic of the historic seaside town, the Biarritz lighthouse has an essential location overlooking the coastline of the Cape Hainsart. Built in 1834, the lighthouse stands at the tip of the Pointe Saint-Martin, which marks a boundary between the sandy beaches of the Landes Coast to the south and the rocky coastline of the Basque country to the north. Visitors may climb the 248 steps of the lighthouse to take in the scenery from this incredible vantage point. The 73-meter-high lighthouse commands exceptional panoramic views of Biarritz and the Basque countryside.

The Orthodox Church This beautiful Byzantine-style church was designed by the renowned Biarritz architect Tisnés and built in 1892. The jewel-box of a church is adorned with icons from Saint Petersburg. The Orthodox Church has a beautiful iconostasis. A real journey of discovery! Open to the public on Saturday and Sunday from 3.30pm to 6pm all year round and on Wednesday from 3.30pm to 6pm during school holidays (except high season).
